ख़ुदा करे कि मोहब्बत में ये मक़ाम आये
Khuda kare ki mohabbat mein wo mukaam aaye
With God's blessing, may my love attain such dignity that

किसी का नाम लूं लब पे तुम्हारा नाम आए
Kisii kaa naam luun lab pe tumhaaraa naam aaye
Whenever a name comes to my lips, it will be yours

कुछ इस तरह से जिए ज़िन्दगी बसर न हुई
Kuchh is tarah se jiiye zindagii basar na huii
I have lived in such a way that life has become intolerable

तुम्हारे बाद किसी रात की सहर न हुई
Tumhaare baad kisii raat kii sahar na huii
After you my nights never turned into sunrise

सहर नज़र से मिले, ज़ुल्फ़ ले के शाम आए
Sahar nazar se mile zulf leke shaam aaye
My morning is lit by your eyes and your dark beautiful tress brings the evening to me

किसी का नाम लूं लब पे तुम्हारा नाम आए
Kisii kaa naam luun lab pe tumhaaraa naam aaye
Whenever a name comes to my lips, it will be yours

ख़ुद अपने घर में वो मेहमान बन के आए हैं
Khud apane ghar mein vo mehamaan ban ke aayen hain
She has entered her home as a guest

सितम तो देखिए अनजान बन के आए हैं
Sitam to dekhiye ki anjaan ban ke aayen hain
Look at her cruelty, coming as a stranger

हमारे दिल की तड़प आज कुछ तो काम आए
Hamaare dil kii tarap aaj kuchh to kaam aaye
Today I will utilize restlessness of the heart that I have felt

वही है साज़ वही गीत वही मंज़र
wahii hai saaz, wahii giit, vahii manzar
The instrument, song and destination are all same

हरेक चीज़ वही है नहीं हो तुम वो मगर
Har ek chiiz wahii hai nahin ho tum wo magar
Everything is the same except you

इसी तरह से निगाहें उठें सलाम आए
Isii tarah se nigaahen uthe salaam aaye
In the same way let your eyes say hello in such manner
